THE DOCTORS
Deborah L. Geering-Fend, O.D.
Dr. Geering-Fend was born in Dayton, OH where she spent part of her childhood, as well as in Kansas and Iowa. After graduating from high school, she worked as an optician for about 10 years. In 1985 she moved to Southern California to continue her education! She received a Bachelor of Visual Science in 1993 and in 1995 received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. After working several years, in June 2007 she opened her own optometry office in Torrance, CA which became Coastal Vision Center, A Professional Optometry Corporation in 2013. From 2007-2002 she was a visiting optometrist in the remote town of Petersburg, Alaska where she provided eye care for the Alaska Natives and town residents.
Dr. Geering-Fend served as a board member of the South Bay Optometric Society from 2002-2019, and as president from 2008-2010. She is currently the 2nd Vice President of the South Bay Lions Club. She and her husband have a son and she further enjoys walking at the beach, bicycling, camping, hiking mountains, skiing, and traveling. |
Sheryl A. Bruce, O.D.
Dr. Bruce grew up in a small, farm country town in Illinois. She fell in love with Southern California and moved here in 1986. In 1990, she attended CSU Long Beach and received a B.A. in Psychology. Her interest in optometry began while working in a private optometry practice in Torrance, CA. She attended Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton and received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1997. Dr. Bruce has pursued her career in optometry in multiple private practices in the South Bay. As a member of the South Bay Optometric Society, is where she met Dr. Geering-Fend and in 2013, they created a partnership to build Coastal Vision Center, A Professional Optometry Corporation.
In her spare time, Dr. Bruce likes to spend time with her husband and their two sons, Noah and Ryan. They like to travel and attend sporting events. Especially, watching their sons play soccer and hockey. |
